I helped bring a hands-on floral arranging workshop to life at Long Beach Public Library — and it turned into a full house. 💐

From shaping the program and coordinating the details to marketing the event and creating this recap reel, I loved watching the collaborative process come together in a room full of people creating something beautiful.

This is one of my favorite parts of creative work: helping develop an idea, creating the story around it, and getting people excited enough to show up.

I developed the visual concept and promotional graphic for Long Beach Public Library’s Pop Art Pet Portraits program, drawing on the bold colors, graphic shapes and playful energy of Pop Art. From idea to booking the artist to creating the visual campaign that brought it to life — this is the kind of creative work I love: taking an idea and turning it into an experience people want to be part of.

What if your favorite pet could become a pop art masterpiece? 👀🎨

Join us for a fun, colorful creative workshop and turn your beloved pet—or a favorite bird, flower, or butterfly—into a bold pop art portrait inspired by Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein!

We'll play with bright colors, graphic shapes, and comic-book-inspired details to create a portrait that captures your subject's personality. 🌈✨

And the best part? You'll take home your very own framed work of art! 🖼️🐶🐱

All materials are provided, including an 8.5" x 11" metal studio frame with glass, paint pens, acrylic paints, brushes, cardstock, and paper.

📸 IMPORTANT: You must submit a photo of your subject in advance so it can be prepared for the workshop.

Up close with The Alba Madonna — I’m not okay😭.
Raphael’s Sublime Poetry exhibit at the Met is the largest showing of his work ever seen in the US, and standing in front of this piece I kept thinking about the pigments. Ground by hand from minerals. Lapis lazuli for that impossible blue. Lead-tin yellow for the warmth. And underneath it all, the dead color underpainting technique that Renaissance painters used to build depth before a single true color was applied.
The original wood panel was damaged and later transferred to canvas — and still, it jumps off the wall.
We are so lucky these survived and were able to stand right in front of them. I’m in awe….
