Top Notch Canvassing is actively hiring motivated petitioners to support California ballot initiatives and political campaigns by collecting valid signatures from registered voters. This role focuses on professional grassroots outreach, helping initiatives qualify for upcoming elections while maintaining compliance with California election guidelines.

Petitioners work in community settings engaging with voters, explaining initiatives, and collecting accurate petition signatures. Compensation is performance-based with pay per valid signature, offering strong earning potential and flexible scheduling. This position is ideal for individuals interested in political campaigns, public engagement, and field operations who enjoy working outdoors and interacting with diverse communities.

How You Earn:
On average, petitions pay $5 to $15 per valid signature collected. Sometimes there are several petitions running at the same time, which makes it easy to earn even more. There are no earning limits — some of our circulators have made over $1,000 in a single day, depending on effort and how many petitions are active.

📢 Top Notch Canvassing – California Petition Update: Restore Local Taxpayer Protections

California voters are seeing a new petition circulate across the state aimed at restoring local taxpayer protections and reaffirming voter control over local tax increases. This effort is often called the Local Taxpayer Protection Act or Restore Local Taxpayers initiative, and it seeks to bring back constitutional safeguards that supporters say have been weakened over the past several years.

For decades, Californians relied on the promise of Proposition 13 and Proposition 218—measures designed to protect homeowners and local taxpayers by requiring a two-thirds vote for local special tax increases. Recent court decisions, however, have created openings (“loopholes”) that allow some local taxes to pass with lower vote thresholds.

Supporters of this new initiative want to restore the original protections, ensuring that:

Local governments must meet the two-thirds voter approval for special tax increases.

Real estate transfer taxes stay capped and transparent.

Local taxpayers maintain clear, strong control over how new taxes are created.

California’s long-standing constitutional protections for property owners remain intact.

Backers say the petition will help protect homeowners, renters, small businesses, and local communities from rapid tax increases, while also bringing stability back to local taxation rules.

INCREASES ETHNIC STUDIES REQUIREMENTS FOR GRADUATION FROM THE CALIFORNIA STATE UNIVERSITY.

Under current law, undergraduate students at the California State University (CSU) must complete one three-unit ethnic studies course to graduate. This measure would change CSU’s graduation requirements to require, beginning in the 2030-2031 academic year: (1) undergraduate students to complete two ethnic studies courses (one three-unit lower division course and one three-unit upper division course); and (2) graduate students to complete one three-unit ethnic studies course. Prohibits the Legislature from reducing the number of required courses for graduation or altering required course curriculum.
