The 26th annual LVFD Hog Roast and Dance is officially complete. Our neighbors and supporters who came from near and far to support the LVFD are the absolute GREATEST! We had a great crowd for supper, had fun at the dance while it lasted and the 2026 fundraiser was pure success. Thank you doesn't do justice to the generosity of all. You have kept our FD operational for another calendar year and for this, we are most grateful.

Update: thanks so much to our friends Cullen and Brandy Kelly, George Mendoza and our new friend Dave Wilson of the Stateline Ramblers band. They've been our band for the last several years and we always enjoy having them down. Cullen, George and Dave joined us for this picture with our department members minus chief Eric Gropper who was hiding somewhere avoiding the camera. 🤣

SIX DAYS to the LVFD Hog Roast and Dance!

To our community and department members: with the LV Store now closed, we have no way to have people sign up to bring desserts or salads for the supper. If anyone in the area is attending this Saturday and is willing to bring salads or desserts, please have them there by 5:30 Saturday afternoon when the supper begins. Any help you can give is greatly appreciated.

See you Saturday!

Twenty five years. Today, we pay tribute to the 343 brave souls of the FDNY who perished while doing the jobs so many of them loved. Whether the job is to rescue people from a burning high rise building or fighting a prairie or forest fire in the most sparsely populated parts of the country, the fire service is truly a brotherhood. When one dies in the line of duty, we all feel the loss.

We also remember the 2,977 men and women who didn't come home on the evening of September 11, 2001.

So many people get tired of the cliche "never forget". It is the obligation of every man, woman and child to never forget the collective sacrifices everyone made for all of us.

America. God shed his grace on thee.

God bless this great nation.

Never forget.
