Today, Bob Taylor takes his final ride home in Engine 2 as he retires after a 24 year career. Brother Taylor retired as Badge 1 after many years of service to the Town and Local 1903. Good luck in your future endeavors Bob, we wish you a long, happy, and healthy retirement.

Congratulations to our member Matt Murphy on his graduation from the Fire Academy today. Initial reports from the Training Cadre indicate that only two recruits and Murph’s mustache were needed to advance the deuce and a half to division three! Strong work Brother!

Gas Odor Update: At around 10:30 this morning LFD received multiple calls reporting an odor of natural gas in various areas of Town. LFD and LPD, along with Everource Gas investigated. We did not locate any active leak and the odor dissipated. It has been reported by Eversource that the source of the odor was related to a delivery of gas odorant. LFD has determined there is no hazard to the public and the odors have cleared. Eversource will be providing additional detail as it becomes available.

Our members had a great time today giving Santa and Mrs. Claus a ride around town. We were glad to see so many friends out waving and cheering. Merry Christmas!
