Friday Fire Prevention Tip 🔥

As we head into the weekend and are charging up our gadgets, this is a good one to think about. Charge large items like e-bikes, scooters, and power tools outside when possible. If you have to charge them inside or in the garage, do not block exits. These batteries store more energy, and fires can grow quickly if they fail. .

Fire prevention tip #1 🔥

Stop using your device right away if the battery smells strange, is warm to the touch, makes popping noises, changes in shape or color, or if you see smoke. A damaged battery can overheat and start a fire faster than you think. .

It’s Fire Prevention Week! This year’s theme by the NFPA Is, Charge into Fire Safety: Safe Charging Is a Superpower.

This week we’ll share some tips of everyday actions that can help prevent something you may not often think about: lithium-ion battery fires. Though battery fires are relatively thought of as rare, the total number of incidents is rising quickly as e-bikes, scooters, and other rechargeable electronics become more common. In Loving Memory of Ryan Vandermaten ❤️

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved technician, Ryan Vandermaten, who passed away after a short and difficult battle with cancer.

Ryan was part of our Myrtle Beach team for over eight years, and in that time he became so much more than a colleague — he was a friend to everyone he met. Hardworking and dedicated, Ryan brought a wealth of experience and expertise in operations management to everything he did. He carried himself with a calm, quiet strength that put everyone around him at ease.

Outside of work, Ryan had a heart for animals, especially dogs, and his kindness extended to everyone in our community. He had a gift for making people feel valued, and he will be deeply missed by all of us who had the privilege of knowing him.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Ryan’s family and friends during this incredibly difficult time. Rest in peace, Ryan. You will be forever missed.
