Little River
Richard Farrell Kruger, 80, died Monday, January 16, 2017 at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center.
Born on June 15, 1936 in Charlotte, NC, he was the son of the late William (Bill) Kruger and Dorothy Suggs .
Richard is survived by his wife of 43 years, Rita Wheeler Kruger; two sons, Joseph “Joe” Kruger and Richard “Rick” Kruger; daughter, Kristine Kruger Huffstetler; brothers, William and James Kruger; sisters, Barbara Roberts, Lynn Herzing, Shelly Kruger and three grandchildren, Hannah Kruger, Davis Huffstetler and Lanah Kruger.
Dick was an avid golfer and a member of Bay Tree Golf Club, The Surf Club and served as President of the HOA of Paradise Island for 14 years.
Dick better known as “Pop Pop” leaves behind 3 beloved grandchildren and he will forever and always be in their hearts and minds. They will forever cherish the fond memories of their “Pop Pop”.
Mr. Kruger started his company some 40 years ago. His hard work and determination truly built the foundation of Kruger Ltd. From day one he was dedicated to meeting the needs of his customers in both the wholesale and distribution business, including devoting much of his time and effort as a sales representative for numerous companies over the years. Not only did he develop a professional business relationship with his customers but also a personal bond with most. He will dearly be missed by his family, friends and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
A memorial service will be held at 3 pm on Friday, January 20 in Lee Funeral Home Chapel.
