This type of photorealistic video call / interaction system for socializing with old friends, doing business meetings or playing games is within 1-3 years for the average consumer.

Think of family that is unable to travel and being able to feel like they're instantly in the same room!

I've experienced versions of this as well and especially for 5-30 people, it's significantly better than trying to have so many little boxes of people on your screen with zoom for facetime, holding a device up or sitting in a specific spot for the entire call, not to mention the horrible audio problems and making sure everyone mutes themselves.

From a bandwidth perspective, data requirements over the internet, this uses far less than traditional HD live streams also.

Very crazy, yet serious OpenAI article on their plans to develop AGI - like a computer as smart as a human or more so, combined with the speed of machines - "soon," though a bit slower than is possible for the good of society.

And also, the option to cut off or cap shareholder returns to redistribute to all of humanity - UBI (Universal Basic Income) - As they seriously expect to economically take over the world / start sucking up untold trillions of wealth as their automation seeps into every industry and a large portion of jobs are replaced.

Serious safety news
AI voice cloning of anyone, as well as text style writing clone and in months - 2 years photo realistic artificial video, is all now very good.

So be VERY skeptical of anyone calling saying you have to transfer money for emergency "act now" reasons.

Hang up and call the person / doctor back and then Ask questions only the real person would know to authenticate identity when dealing with anything like transferring money or making important decisions or for legal matters.

Also, this applies to political videos designed to cause flash mobs and riots - so don't believe any video - until maybe 7+ days later after it gets authenticated by multiple mainstream trustworthy news sources.

Please check your password safety and read the tips. I'm basically Fort Knox on everything myself already =P

Plus, especially for very important accounts if possible, I have 2FA enabled via app, removed the phone backup to prevent SIM swap attacks and made multiple paper backup codes as well.

How strong are your passwords? Test how secure they are using the My1Login Password Strength Test.

For anyone curious about VR (virtual reality), you don't need to break the bank and prices have come down like crazy since 2016. You can get a good PC headset for $200 and a compatible PC for $400 self built barebones, although realistically $500. For a total of $700+ if you have no PC. But most people can just spend $200 on their existing PC to upgrade, so only $400 upgrade or $700 if starting from scratch.

The best mobile (plus optional PC support) VR headset is the $400 standalone Oculus Quest. Take it anywhere, no PC, wires or cameras required.

Phone scams on the rise!
Ignore ALL incoming phone calls claiming to be your bank, doctor, etc, regardless what caller ID says, DO NOT talk to them at all or give them any information, pin numbers or codes from your phone! Hang up immediately and call the direct number of your bank, doctor, etc to report the call to see if it was real or not and communicate with people and companies, Banks, doctors, etc ONLY by calling them yourself, never by receiving calls.

I'm not sure why so many people have been scared about this. The current conclusion? It's probably fine, but will be continuously studied post-launch for many years. And it's definitely much safer than the ~37,000 deaths a year we take for granted in the us from cars! I'm struggling to recall even a single person killed from wifi or anyone that has been able to detect its presence in a blind test.

Imagine if a new technology was being proposed that would provide a substantial convenience, to the point that most people would use it in one form or another, and our economic infrastructure would be
