Our dear friend, Rupa Mehta, the creator of OOPAs World of Words will be interviewed tonight on ABC Nightly News at 8pm EST. This project has been truly an honor and labor of love to help fund meaningful programming for children in this topic.

We have suffered another tremendous loss with the passing of Dale Dobson yesterday. A champion for farmer and firefighter safety. A crusader for mental health awareness in these professions. A true hero who helped to invent the Turtle Tube Grain Rescue Sleeve that has saved lives. A friend and brother to us and so many across the United States. His lasting impact will continue to inspire agricultural safety.

Our condolences to his family, friends and colleagues. May his memory be eternal.

Tom’s wife Karen sent this picture to me tonight of Dale and our Founder Tom Norton. They have been reunited together in eternal life.

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing today of our beloved Founder Thomas C. Norton. Tom was able to celebrate his 90th birthday last month with much joy.

We owe the success of our company to Tom’s vision as a blazing entrepreneur who took his love of the environment and turned plastic that was going to be landfilled into useful and life saving products. For decades, Tom has been instrumental with helping to start charities and fund dozens of local, national and international non-profit organizations.

Tom immensely loved his wife Dr. Karen A. Bradley, his children, family, community, customers, cohorts and the team here at Turtle Plastics. We share many happy memories and funny stories of our adventures with him. He had a positive impact on so many. His legacy will carry on.

Services for Tom will be privately held. Any contributions in his memory may be made to your favorite charity.

He will be missed but his memory will be eternal.

We are proud and honored to share a meaningful project that the Turtle Plastics Foundation was recently a part of called, "Remembering September 11th." It's a five-part video series that will help teachers and families introduce this topic to young children with care, connecting the history of 9/11 to concepts kids can relate to: what it means to respond in an emergency, recognize heroes, preserve memories, and serve your community. The videos are now available for download and viewing.

Talking about 9/11 can be uncomfortable, especially when it comes to kids. This resource gives you a starting place–an opportunity to ensure the next generation knows how our country came together and this history is never forgotten.

Check out the resource website, watch the trailer video, and please share with your network so this free resource can be used far and wide!

This Remembering September 11 resource supports the introduction of this topic to young children. Teachers of kindergarten, first grade and second grade can use this in the classroom. Parents can use this resource at home. It includes five videos: ANNIVERSARY, EMERGENCY, HERO, MEMORY, and SERVICE.

The Turtle Plastics Foundation is honored to have worked along with the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation and NaliniKids through OOPA's World of Words to provide funding for a special early education children's program on Remembering 9/11. This will be a free downloadable resource to any educator, fire department, community group or parent.
