Keep our neighboring department in your thoughts and prayers as they morn the loss of one their own. Tom Bumgardner was a long time member of Warren Township Fire Department, he loved the job, enjoyed helping others and was great friend of the department. Rest easy Lieutenant Bumgardner.
It is with great sadness that the Warren Township Fire Department announces the passing of Lieutenant Tom Bumgardner on July 31st, 2026.
Tom joined Warren Township Fire Department in April of 2000, serving for 26 years. Tom went on to also serve the communities of Champion and Bristol as a firefighter/EMT. For years, Tom would work night shifts at Warren Township, often after he completed a shift working at LaBrae schools as a janitor. Tom spent many years serving our community with LaBrae and Warren Township. Tom, and his wife, Pam; were constant figures in local community events and fundraisers. If there was a community project, a fundraiser, or spcial event, Tom and Pam were both there. As one of the "old men of the fire house," Tom was always willing to step in to teach, guide, and mentor anyone who walked the halls of the station. Tom was a father figure to many, both at the fire station, and in every day life. You need dad joke, a moment to make you laugh, or a stern father pointing you in the right direction, Tom had us covered. Compassionate, caring, dedicated, funny, and loving. That was Tom.
We ask for your thoughts and prayers to be with his family. "Bump" will never be forgotten, and will be forever loved. Rest easy Bump, we will take it from here.
