Los Alamos Network LANET

Los Alamos Network LANET Los Alamos Local Internet Service Provider via Fiber Optics Welcome to Los Alamos Network we are a Fiber Optic based internet company.

Fiber Optics is a technology that uses glass fibers to transmit data, instead of the traditional DSL dial-up which uses telephone lines that connect to a router or modem and converts to the internet. Fiber connects straight to the internet using a router and an ethernet cord. This provides a faster, more reliable internet experience. Our main goal as a company is to have all of Los Alamos and Whit

e Rock connected with our fiber services. As we continue to thrive as a small business in our community, we strive to expand and always give our best effort. We provide service to many businesses and residents in the local area. We take pride in our services being able to provide Los Alamos, White Rock, and recently Sierra Los Pinos, Jemez Springs New Mexico with faster and more consistent service than our big corporate competitors. With no hidden fees, no binding contracts, we do not sell your personal information. Our prices are affordable and we are a local business helping to make your internet experience hassle-free.

LANet Service Update – White Rock

We are aware that some White Rock customers are still without internet service.

Even though yesterday’s power outage happened in Los Alamos, it appears to have affected our router serving White Rock. Our team has been working actively since last night and throughout the day to restore service across the affected areas.

We are working on replacing the affected router and restoring service as quickly as possible.

We are very sorry for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience.

Good news — internet service in White Rock has been restored. Lumen replaced a defective card and the circuit is back online.

If you’re still offline, please unplug your router for 30 seconds, plug it back in, and wait 3–5 minutes for it to reconnect.

Update from Lumen:
• 10:15 AM MST: Central office technician dispatched to isolate the issue — no ETA yet.
• 9:32 AM MST: Lumen is isolating the circuit and will advise shortly.

White Rock friends — we’re currently experiencing an internet outage.

It appears the main line feeding White Rock from Los Alamos stopped working around 12:04 AM. We went out and checked our White Rock equipment and everything on our side looks normal.

We’ve opened a ticket with Lumen and we’re on the phone with them working to restore service as quickly as possible.

We’re sorry you woke up with no internet — we know how disruptive this is. We’ll post an update as soon as we have more info.

While Los Alamos was sleeping, we were in the server room pulling new fiber, upgrading our main routers, and cleaning up years of cabling. This was part of a planned LANet upgrade to add redundancy and prepare for faster speeds.
We finally stepped out at 4 a.m. into the snow at 26°F ❄️—all so your internet is ready when you wake up.

Heads up, LANet family!
This Thursday starting around 12:30 a.m. we’ll be doing some network upgrades – new gear, fiber changes, and cleanup in the server room.

The good news? There’s a 2-hour snow delay, so you can sleep in while we’re up late working on the network. By the time you wake up, everything should be back to normal or better.

Stay cozy, keep warm, and thank you for supporting your local internet provider! 💙🌨️

This Thursday, 12:30–5:00 a.m. we’ll be upgrading our main routers, replacing Ethernet with fiber, and doing a deep clean of our server room.
You may experience brief outages during this window.

These upgrades will give us more redundancy and prepare the network for faster speeds in the future.
Thank you for your patience and for being part of LANet!

We’ve now had four major communication blackouts since 2022.
This article does an excellent job explaining what happened on Tuesday, why these outages keep repeating, and why the new redundant fiber line is so critical for Los Alamos.
For the first time, the solution is months away—not years.

Fourth blackout in Los Alamos since 2022 spurs community meeting: Officials say redundant fiber line rollout is closer than expected
