Another Banana Stand Inc. client is off to conquer the world - one hand-made at a time! Much like Ellen's bespoke creations, this project required meticulous crafting and careful tailoring to make just right. We started with our Solo Entrepreneur service followed by and creation, and capped it off with a full Squarespace website, custom-coded for both desktop and mobile use. The site is as elegant as Ellen's designs, incorporating opacities, movement, and layers to mimic the depth of her elegant gowns, with excellent photography by Brandi Rollins Photography. Special thanks to the inimitable, infrangible Elaine Mellis for seeing this project through from concept to completion!

With so many of our friends and colleagues in the TV and Film community out of work due to the strikes, the number of start-ups and side hustles around town is booming. But the success and longevity of most of these new ventures are being bottle-necked by some seriously sub-par design and bad branding. So let's do something about it!

Introducing The Small Business Start-Up Plan: an affordable Branding package exclusively for members of the TV and Film community during these challenging times. It's a 'lite' version of our standard and best-selling TOV, Logo, Brand Identity package at a steeply discounted price.

What's In The Box?

+ A slimmed-down TOV guide (Archetype Heat Map + Brand Vocab + Positioning Concepts)
+ The full Logo Design process
+ A basic Identity guide along with a few social icons and other goodies

Basically, everything you need for the first 3 to 6 months of your business and then some. Already have a logo? Let’s swap it out for some web work. Already have a site? Time for some quality product photos. The moral of the story here is that we’re flexible. The services above outline the basics that every small business needs – but we’re happy to work within your needs and budgets to get you up and running as soon and affordably as possible. We can bang out business cards, package design, signage, pop-up tents, product and lifestyle photography, and more, in-house and through our partner agency, Small Green Door. Just ask.

So schedule a call, get on the calendar, and put that side hustle front and center!

An unexpected guest stole the show at my niece’s wedding: a funky lizard with big googly eyes was totally killing it on the dance floor all night long. One moment it was doing the cha-cha in bright blue hues, and the next it was waltzing across the room in mellow yellows. Our dazzling dancer didn’t just adapt to the music–it owned it.

But what does one reptile's rhythmic repertoire have to do with your new cookie business, and WTF is a Brand Mode Matrix? I'm glad you asked! New blog up on the site ..

Is anyone else REALLY ready for this to die? I’ve only been approached once so far to make one of these, and passed. I love as much as the next designer/artist, but these are barely even logos, and certainly not functional or timeless brands. What other trends have come and gone lately?

Today's Banana Blog deftly avoids answering just about all of your burning Tone Of Voice and Branding questions. I go so far as to offer an illustrated haiku to throw you off the scent of a straight answer.

We'll all end the day a little bit smarter, a little bit happier, and perhaps a smidge more informed on what exactly it is that I do for a living.

Good news! There’s an easy answer to the question of what Tone Of Voice is the BEST for you and your brand ...

There was a time not that long ago when the thought of a company without a Logo would have been ridiculous. As owners and investors became savvier about the importance and value of consistency and creating a lifestyle around their offerings, the thought of a company without a full Brand Identity System was every bit as unimaginable. Today, forward-thinking brands are discovering and capitalizing on the immeasurable worth of creating and implementing a Tone Of Voice across all of their internal and external creative efforts as the third pillar of a functional creative foundation.
