The reason I am so bold and confident in asking for more is because I'm a person of faith.

I believe all of it is God's. Everything.

What is $2 million to God?

The real treasure is people. This is what matters most. We each have infinite value.

Why would I be afraid to talk about money and impact with people?

If they say yes, wonderful! If they say no, all good.

We're worried about the wrong things if what people will think of us holds us back from raising more money.

I know who I am in God.
My identity is secure.
There is nothing I can do to become less worthy or loved.
There is nothing I must do to earn it either.
There is no proving or performance.

I can talk about abundance being inevitable because I know God and he is extravagantly generous. His name is Jesus.

He's the only one I know who saved me from hell (the hell I created and the one inherited) and made me who I am.

What would happen if you accepted you are worthy and loved as you are?
Who might you become as a leader if you understood the universe is for you because God is for you?

We are swimming in his grace surrounded by resources.
Darkness doesn't last forever.
You get to do this important work.
You get to serve your community, animals, the earth, and humanity.
We get to do this.
We have God on our side.

He is for you.

My 🔥 take: People hate fundraising because 1) they aren’t good at it 2) they don’t know what it is

You think it’s about asking for money. That’s only 10% of it.

🔥Major Gifts Fundraising is connecting with wealthy people who care and influencing them to become the most generous version of themselves.🔥

You get to craft an opportunity that matches their unique desire to create an impact on the world. Guess what! It’s the same impact YOU want to make on the world. Look at that, something you have in common with a rich person. Wild, huh.

If you think it’s about asking people with money for some of that money, you’ll hate your job and resent that you even have to fundraise at all. Why don’t people just donate without us asking? Don’t they know we need it?

Here’s the cold truth: your mission doesn’t stop with the community you serve. You are also on mission to influence the rich to put their money where their mouth is. Who else will do that job, if not us fundraisers?
