Our customer in the construction and heavy civil engineering industry in Montana had just scored two 𝗥𝗲𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗼 𝟯𝟲" 𝘅 𝟲𝟬' 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘆𝗼𝗿𝘀 at an auction in Nevada and needed a trusted transport service to get them back to his business. 🏗️

He already had a couple of quotes on the table. After reviewing the dimensions, calculating the required overhang permits, and working the numbers, our initial rate came in a little higher than his target. 📈💲

So we kept working. 🧑🏻‍💻

⏱️ Timing is everything in agriculture. When harvest season is around the corner, every day counts, and getting equipment delivered quickly can make all the difference.

This shipment was for one of our agribusiness customers in Kansas who had just purchased a KSI 12UC Conveyor and a Friesen Scale Hopper from a farm supplier auction in Iowa. 🌾

His goal was simple: get the equipment picked up and delivered as quickly as possible so it would be ready for harvest. 👨‍🌾🚜

Wednesday morning we received the green light along with the release documents and two instructions:

✔️ Contact the farm supplier to coordinate pickup.
✔️ Move the equipment as soon as possible.

📞 We immediately called the supplier, confirmed their operating hours, coordinated the pickup details, and started searching for the right carrier while the customer's wire transfer was still processing.

By Thursday morning, we already had a trusted driver lined up and ready to go. 🫡

Everything looked perfect… 👌

Until we called to verify the release. 📦

The supplier informed us they still needed a payment confirmation code before releasing the equipment. 🔢

🗣️ When we reached out to our customer, he explained that the wire transfer had been rejected because of a name mismatch with the bank.

📲 "I'll call first thing tomorrow morning and pay by card so we can get it moving."

Friday morning arrived. Still no payment confirmation. Unfortunately, by then we had already lost the driver we had reserved. 🛻🛣️

A little later, the pickup location reached out to us with an update: "It's okay to roll without payment. We're talking a lot of dollars here, and he needs it ASAP!" 💨

⚠️ Shortly afterward, the payment was confirmed. The problem? Now we had equipment ready to move—but no available driver. Most carriers were already committed to other loads.

🚜 Knowing harvest season had already begun, we immediately started looking for alternatives. We contacted the pickup location and asked if they could accommodate a Saturday pickup.

Fortunately, they agreed, as long as they received a one-to-two-hour notice before arrival. Meanwhile, one of our trusted drivers from Texas was finishing another delivery nearby and looked like our best opportunity. 🎯

He could pick up Saturday… but because of his available driving hours, the original expectation was that delivery wouldn't happen until Monday.

We explained the situation to our customer. Surprisingly, he was delighted. 🤗

💫 He told us he had already prepared himself for a Monday pickup and a Wednesday delivery the following week. Anything sooner would be a bonus. Then everything changed.

Late Friday afternoon, our driver completed his remaining deliveries ahead of schedule. Instead of waiting until midday Saturday… He was suddenly available first thing Saturday morning. 🙋‍♂️

🌄 We immediately confirmed the new plan. Saturday morning, he arrived at the supplier before 9:00 AM, loaded both pieces of equipment, secured the load, and headed straight toward Kansas.

Less than 24 hours later, he was unloading at our customer's facility. What was expected to become a midweek delivery turned into a weekend delivery—just in time for harvest. ⏳

After receiving confirmation that everything had arrived safely, we immediately processed the driver's payment and officially completed another successful shipment. 💸

He would be in the area. He had a 53' Step Deck with ramps. And he could meet our 𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿'𝘀 𝗯𝘂𝗱𝗴𝗲𝘁. 🎯

The customer approved immediately. 👍

🥱 The pickup instructions seemed simple enough:

📍 Gate unlocked.
📍 Truck parked just inside.
📍 Key hidden inside the cab.

𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁. Or so we thought. ⚠️

🚛 The driver was originally scheduled for Wednesday evening, but due to scheduling changes we moved pickup to 𝗧𝗵𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴.

🌄 Early Thursday, our driver hit the road before 7:00 AM.

After fighting heavy traffic, he 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗱 at the pickup location. 🏁

That's when the real challenges began.

⚠️ 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺 #𝟭:
The gate wasn't unlocked. In fact, it was 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗱 and inaccessible. 🔒

⚠️ 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺 #𝟮:
The driver wasn't comfortable loading the truck by himself. 🫠

👨‍🦯 Because of the truck's bumper clearance and ramp angle, he wanted someone present to guide him during loading and help 𝗲𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗱𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗱.

🧠 𝗔 𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻.

One small mistake loading a rollback truck can become an expensive repair. 😵

We 𝗶𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 our customer, who began making calls trying to locate someone with access to the property. 📲

Eventually, he found a local contact who could help. 🤙

The only problem?

They were 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝟰𝟬 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆. 🔭

And by then our driver had already been sitting on-site for quite some time. ⏱️

Around midday, the assistance finally arrived. The gate was opened.
Loading guidance was provided. 🙋‍♂️

And after more than three hours of waiting, our driver successfully loaded and secured the truck. ✔

𝗕𝘆 𝟯:𝟬𝟬 𝗣𝗠 he was fully loaded and heading south toward Kentucky. 🛣️

🚛 Once on the road, he made excellent time.

He drove his full available miles that day, stopped for a brief rest period, and by 𝟴:𝟬𝟬 𝗔𝗠 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 he was pulling into our customer's yard. 🔆
