A few words from our CEO in this time of mourning Queen Elizabeth II:

"Rest In Peace Queen Elizabeth II and I want to say thank you.

Most people know me as Lily but you are my namesake for my name is Elisabetta, it was chosen by my sister who at the age of eight had a soft spot for you.

Amongst the myriad of letter that you received every year, there was one from the MyBnk team and I, it included a copy of our annual report updating you on our work giving young people access to financial education.
Every year you would respond, it became our annual ritual to gather around as a team and take great joy in reading your words of encouragement.

In 2017, two months after moving to Los Angeles, I wandered past the Kings Head pub in Santa Monica and was missing home. Just then I got a call. A letter had arrived. I had been invited to receive an MBE from the Palace. Nationality and Identity were always elusive concepts to me. As an Italian, born in London having lived in many countries like Zimbabwe and Bangladesh, I was ‘well adjusted’ to never feeling quite at home. Much to my surprise, receiving the MBE gave me a sense of belonging and I cherish it.

With enduring grace you made everyone feel somehow connected to you and thus to something much bigger than ourselves."
