Nursing and engineering programs are well regarded and pull strong employer interest in the Pacific Northwest. The campus sits on a bluff overlooking the Willamette River in North Portland, so you get a close-knit community with Portland's food, music and outdoor scene a short ride away. As a Catholic school run by the Congregation of Holy Cross, it puts real weight on service and ethics, and that appeals even to plenty of non-Catholic students. SUNY Fredonia, western New York. Class sizes are small, and faculty tend to know their students by name, easier to find mentors, research opportunities, and internships.

Esp well known for its music program, strong offerings in music ed, performance, and sound recording tech. A great fit for students interested in education, communications, business, or the sciences, Dept of Theatre and Dance and visual arts programs give plenty of room to grow.

Tuition far more affordable than most, students can access solid financial options. Campus life is lively for a small school, wide range of clubs, performances, DIII athletics, and student-run media. Also sits near Lake Erie, so friendly small-town feel with beautiful scenery, outdoor activities, and sense of community.
