They say you find out who your real friends are during times of distress, but the same can be said of periods of success. It’s not uncommon for friends and family to be unsupportive when you’re doing well. The last thing you want is a partner that displays this type of behavior.
If you find yourself in a relationship where you are fearful of sharing your success or you get attacked verbally, emotionally or worst physically due to your success, (in any area of life) then you will need to ask yourself can you tolerate this behavior for 3-6-9-12+ years?
If the answer is no, then it may be time to exit stage right. Don’t make excuses or justify your partners action. Don’t ignore the yellow, red and white flags.. Take responsibility.
Not taking action/not making a decision is making a decision.
