Ah hell it must have been ... 2008? Maybe 2009 if that... I went to our Agency owner (insurance) with a full on Business Plan (strategy and email addresses and contact numbers and associations to join, I mean the works here) because I wanted to be an AGENT. I wanted my own clients, my own book. To control my financial future.

Do you know what HE said to me?

DO. YOU. KNOW. WHAT. HE. SAID. TO. ME.

Dead into these “kiss-me” green eyes, this jackass said (clears throat): “This is nice and all, but the guys are the Agents. We like for you ladies to be support staff.”

SUPPORT. STAFF.

For your f—-king needs.

SUPPORT.

I was mad. I mean like seeing red, mad. Really? I can’t sell insurance because I wasn’t born with the preferred plumbing?? Really?! LIVID.

So I left. I moved to Los Angeles. I made my way to the brokerage HE didn’t feel was necessary. I learned a line of coverage HE thought was “boutique” at best.

FAST FORWARD.

2020 I made more money than I ever have in my life. Because “multiple six-figures” has a ring to it. A ring I didn’t need put on my hand to get my bag, feel me?

Just because it takes time doesn’t mean your time won’t come.

Even with the world going wonky 😷, it was a beautiful week.

We celebrated our wedding anniversary, formed our corporation (😱), found regular groceries at Walmart (finally!), locked down the new logo, cleaned out the master closet, and I eve got the baby to start going to bed a smidge earlier. Yaay for victories, large and small!!

But of course, I had to spoil him with food. Don’t let his fool you... he will still throw down at the kitchen table when I bust out something sweet! So, for our special week I present to you...
