You think you don't have power as an indie author? That's exactly why platforms get away with so much.

I have learned the hard way that staying quiet costs more that speaking up ever will.

Ask the question. Send an email. Push back.

Because "I guess that's just how it is" is not a business strategy.

Be honest, what have you accepted from a platform because you thought you couldn't question it?

If you're not on The StoryGraph you should be! It's my preferred rating, TBR and book tracking platform. I Love it!

I've had good success with my clients gaining traction and visibility using their monthly Giveaway feature. Lowest option is $69 and that has given us 1000s of impressions, 1000s of entries and people interested in the book. I've personally won 2! (I have entered many on Goodreads and never won)

They just partnered with Kobo and are really gaining traction to be a real competitor in the space. There's even more to leverage if you're published wide and on Kobo too!

Get in while the getting's good.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! I crushed my 2025 reading goal!! (even though it came down to the wire and travel delays!) I have never read this many in 1 year in my adult life. MAYBE it was done in the glorious free Pizza Hut days but who knows? Nerd that I am loves all these stats and graphs. Thank you .storygraph
