It’s okay to forget but it’s NOT OKAY to be ignorant, causing the lives of 1 million marine animals & the unaccounted lives of animals on land….. ⁣

Kicking off plastic free July with a swap that will reduce the 7.5milion plastic pollution of our coastlines here in the US… ⁣
Often known as the easiest swap, the switch from plastic straws to reusable straws. ⁣
⁣
Now let’s be honest, for someone who is just starting out…⁣
⁣
This swap takes a little consciousness to build….⁣
⁣
There were a few times we forgot out bamboo straws in the first week when we first started our zero waste lifestyle… ⁣
⁣
However instead of saying “oh no we forgot our straws again” we choose to refuse plastic straws by finding easy & practical ways to include reusable straws in our daily without any excuses. We placed our reusable straws beside our wallets and since it comes with a pouch, making it easy to carry along and fits perfectly in our bags, clutches & pockets. ⁣

Remember there will always be 1001 excuses but create an opportunity for yourself to make a difference to our planet and to the lives of animals! ⁣

Stop being greenwashed by businesses with words like “PLASTIC FREE”!!! ⁣⁣

There are a lot of businesses that are selling reusable straw cleaning brushes made of nylon bristles which is a form of plastic, claiming their products are eco-friendly and plastic-free! ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Nylon is derived from petroleum and coal. And nylon creates nitrous oxide, a greenhouse gas 310 times more fatal than carbon dioxide during manufacturing process. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
I urge eco-conscious consumers to understand a product, before making an informed purchase… ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Don’t succumb to trends…⁣⁣

Get educated. ⁣⁣

Don’t feel bad for asking too many questions… ⁣⁣
