Sewing is my super power🧵🦸🏻‍♀️
What’s yours?

A year ago I answered a call to action and started sewing masks with any and all cotton fabric I had on hand. I made masks when they weren't readily available. I kept people protected and saved lives. A year later I’m reflecting and now realizing the big impact this small act has made.
•
To date I’ve made 1️⃣2️⃣9️⃣6️⃣face masks😷
•
The faces of those I’ve covered stretched to 24 US states:
AK>AZ>CA>CO>DC>DE>FL>GA>HI>KS>MA>MD>NC>NJ>NM>NV>NY>OR>PA>SD>TX>VA>VT>WA
For those of whom are dear, both far & near. Family - parents, grandparents, cousins, aunts, uncles; friends, friends of friends, new friends, old friends, high school & college friends, complete strangers, food bank volunteers & Native American communities.
•
I made a total 6️⃣4️⃣0️⃣ masks that I donated to 1️⃣0️⃣ different Native American tribes.
•
To accomplish this it took:
Countless hours
6,000+ yards of thread
Dozens of yards of fabric
Support from family & friends
The desire to use my skills to help how I can

A small act of kindness can make a big difference.

This week I sent these 1️⃣1️⃣4️⃣ childrens masks that I made to the Yankton Sioux Tribe in South Dakota.

Anyone else that is making masks, if you can, please consider donating your handmade masks through Sewing for Native Peoples (SfNP).
•
Don’t sew but want to help? You can also send store bought masks or donate towards their shipping fund. There’s many more in need of PPE.🙏🏻

Finished these 83 children’s masks.
•
Sent them to the PNW region for Colville, Warm Springs, Klamath & Yakima Communities; the Rosebud Reservation in South Dakota & the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe in South Dakota.
•
They are currently battling a massive outbreak in South Dakota so any help at all would be beyond appreciated🙏🏻 Please consider donating masks through Sew You Care
