It's not you, it's the algorithm! Your posts get like 10 views and 2 comments, and one is from your bestie. We've all been there. But did you know that the issue is not necessarily your content?
Social media platforms use algorithms to determine how many people and which accounts to push your content to. One major determining factor in whether your content gets seen is actually how YOU interact with content on the platform! So, start trying these tips:
📣 Spend a few minutes a day or a couple of times a week commenting and engaging with other people's content using your business profile. It can be your followers, other local businesses (non-competitors) with similar clientele, or organizations you support.
📣 Reply to comments on your posts. Asking follow-up questions to commenters can help keep the engagement going.
📣 Use the call to action of some of your posts to ask engaging questions or start a discussion. Are there "hot takes" in your industry that people have strong opinions on but have little potential to really go off the rails? Think, "Does pineapple belong on pizza?" or "Does the toilet paper roll go over or under?"
With social media, you get what you give. Give it a try! Start engaging consistently and see your reach and engagement start to rise. It's how I managed to get over 250,000 views in one month on an account with under 500 followers with $0 ad spend!
