🚶🏽‍♂️✨ Our 10th Hear Zero™ ASL Inclusion Walk was a powerful success!

We were honored to host the Culver City Police Department and 2026 LA County Sheriff candidate Andre White for an important community conversation centered around communication access, inclusion, and public safety.

Together, we discussed how departments are working to improve interactions with Deaf, Hard of Hearing, autistic, mental health, and other underserved communities through training, technology tools, awareness, and accessibility initiatives designed to bridge the communication gap.

These conversations matter. Access matters. Inclusion matters. And today we walked with purpose toward a more connected and understanding community for ALL. 💙

Ernest Elmer Hairston "Ernie" was honored to be part of the robing and hooding ceremony for Dr. Reginald Bess, Dr. Victoria Monroe, and Dr. Bernice Adekeye — Gallaudet University’s newly-minted Black doctoral degree holders held on May 13, 2026. (Ernie holds the distinction of being Gallaudet’s first Black Ph.D. graduate.) And one of Sign with Me, Incorporated first Board Members 2002-2004. Congratulations!!

A huge congratulations to Dr. D'yann Elaine Crosby for making history once again by presenting the very first American Sign Language webinar series for the Los Angeles County Youth Librarians Training!

This groundbreaking presentation empowered youth librarians with tools and strategies to incorporate American Sign Language into storytimes, movement, and music experiences for children and families. What an incredible step forward for accessibility, communication, inclusion, and language equity in our communities.

We are proud to continue transforming frustration into communication through the power of ASL. This is only the beginning — more to come!
