The day you’ve all been waiting for is finally here…..The Hands-Free Convertible Leash is AVAILABLE NOW on www.shopkonos.com! 🙌🏼

I’m not inherently a product designer or especially crafty, but ever since I pivoted to hand-making dog training gear in August 2023, it’s been an incredible outlet for my creativity and more importantly, I’ve had so much fun designing some of your favorite leashes.

Ever since I launched my handmade rolled BioThane leashes, people have been asking me for a hands-free leash. And for over a year, I’ve been thinking about and overthinking the design of this leash. I felt mentally blocked by wanting to make it perfect, with custom hardware that I felt would make for the most minimalist, beautiful design, and it ended up making me feel overwhelmed and putting this leash on the back burner for a long, long time.

After talking to at the regional IACP reunion in Palm Desert, I felt a reinvigorated sense of purpose in revisiting the design of a KONOS hands-free leash.

So after years of working on (and thinking about) a hands-free leash that is unique to my brand, it’s finally here 🔥

The four main ways to wear The Hands-Free Convertible Leash are:
🐾 Cross-body + as a slip lead
🐾 Cross-body + clipped to your dog’s collar
🐾 Around the waist + as a slip lead
🐾 Around the waist + clipped to your dog’s collar

I’m so excited to see y’all using our most asked-for leash in your everyday lives! Please tag me in your posts and stories, I’d love to see it out in the world with you and your dogs 🐾♥️

Keep reading for a secret 5th way to wear our new Hands-Free Convertible Leash 👀

There are four main ways to wear The Hands-Free Convertible Leash (launching tomorrow, 7/21!):
🐾 Cross-body + as a slip lead
🐾 Cross-body + clipped to your dog’s collar
🐾 Around the waist + as a slip lead
🐾 Around the waist + clipped to your dog’s collar

But there’s a secret 5th way to wear the leash (and more as well…) and that’s as a tether.

When I was designing this leash, I was initially going to use a slip lead design on both ends - so the end that goes over your shoulders or around your waist would go through an o-ring and then clamped. But talking to , he mentioned that it would also be nice to be able to use that side as a tether, so I decided to change it from a slip design on the human end to using our signature locking carabiner to clip to an o-ring so that was the option to either wear it around your body, or unclip it and use the carabiner to tether your dog to a table, a post while camping, etc.

I have a lot of confidence in this community, as many of you are professional dog trainers or people who train with your dogs or use different types of gear. But with all our products, and any dog gear in general, I urge you to please use them responsibly. If using this as a tether, make sure that your dog is being supervised — I know you’ll take good care of them, and I can’t wait to see all the ways you use this leash!

One more day until the release of our most asked-for leash, The Hands-Free Convertible Leash!

I’m about 5’4 and these are approximate lengths for The Hands-Free Convertible Leash launching next Tuesday, 7/21! They’re made of our signature rolled BioThane material so they’re the most lightweight hands-free leash you’ll ever use 😉

Because it’s adjustable and each individual’s body, and each dog, is so unique, I included a range for the shorter and longer versions.

Shorter version (shown in this video): 3-5 ft of leash length (between the human and dog). This varies depending on the individual as well as how you wear it, whether cross-body or around the waist, and either as a slip lead or clipped to your dog’s collar. For example, when worn cross-body and as a slip lead, depending on you and your dog, it’ll be roughly 3-3.5 ft of leash between you and your dog. But when worn around your waist and clipped to your dog’s collar, you’ll have about 5 ft of leash length.

Longer version: 6-8 ft of leash length (between the human and dog). I imagine this will be the more popular length, as my 7 ft Trainer Slip Lead is more popular, and this length is good for larger dogs or dogs who need more space to roam.

But if it were me, I’d probably get one of each anyway because I like to have options 😜 Definitely feel free to reach out to my DMs if you have specific questions about the lengths or fit!

I had fun designing this with several members of my community, and a special shoutout goes out to for providing some perspective that really helped shape the final design 🙌🏼

T-minus 3 days to go before these are live on www.shopkonos.com 👀
