☀️ Why Keep Up with Speech Therapy This Summer?

Summer is a time for fun, flexibility, and making memories—but it doesn’t have to mean putting your child’s progress on pause.

Consistent speech therapy helps children maintain the skills they’ve worked so hard to build, prevent regression, and continue gaining confidence in their communication. Even with vacations, camps, and changing routines, staying connected with your therapist can make a big difference.

✨ Benefits of continuing therapy this summer:
• Prevent loss of hard-earned skills
• Build on the progress already made
• Maintain a strong connection with your therapist
• Keep your preferred therapy time slot
• Enjoy flexible scheduling options, including teletherapy

Summer therapy often feels more relaxed, playful, and engaging—giving children the opportunity to practice communication skills in meaningful, real-life situations.

🌟 More time. More fun. More opportunities for growth.

School may be ending, but growth doesn’t stop there ☀️💛

Summer can be one of the BEST times to support your child’s development. Without the stress of homework and busy school schedules, children are often more regulated, more confident, and more available for learning, connection, and growth.

At Child Success Center, we believe behavior is communication — and our goal is to help children build the foundations they need for confidence, regulation, communication, and lifelong success.

If your child is struggling with attention, emotional regulation, coordination, speech, sensory processing, confidence, or social skills, summer support can make a meaningful difference.

✏️ Strong handwriting starts long before a child writes their first letter.

At Child Success Center’s Kindergarten Readiness Camp, we help children build the hidden foundations for writing success through play, movement, and hands-on learning. 💙

We focus on:
✏️ Hand strength & pencil control
✏️ Core stability & posture
✏️ Visual tracking
✏️ Coordination & attention
✏️ Confidence in the classroom

Perfect for children entering kindergarten who may avoid writing, tire easily at the table, or need extra support building confidence and foundational skills before school starts. 🌟

Knowledge is power. Play is the pathway.

It's May! Which means it's time to celebrate Better Speech & Hearing Month💬👂

Communication is more than just words — it’s how children express their needs, share their ideas, and connect with the world around them.

From first sounds… to first words… to meaningful conversations — every step matters.

This month, we’re highlighting the importance of early support, strong listening skills, and helping every child find their voice.

Because when children feel heard, they thrive.

As we enter May, we’re taking a moment to look back at Autism Awareness Month💙

Autism is not one-size-fits-all — it’s a spectrum, and every child experiences the world in their own unique way.

From navigating sensory sensitivities… to building social understanding… to developing emotional regulation — each piece is part of a bigger, beautiful picture.

Awareness is just the beginning. Understanding, acceptance, and support are what truly make a difference. Let’s continue to learn, support, and celebrate our children — not just in April, but all year long.

What looks like “bad behavior” is often a child having a hard time 🤍 When a child refuses, ignores, melts down, or runs away, it’s usually not about defiance — it’s overwhelm, dysregulation, or something simply feeling too hard in their body or brain.

When we shift from asking “How do I stop this?” to “What’s making this hard?” everything changes ✨ Behavior is communication, and when we understand the barrier, we can actually support the child.

Connection before correction 💛

If your child is struggling to hold a pencil, you’re not alone 🤍

Writing is more than practice — it’s built on strength, coordination, and development that takes time. If they avoid drawing or get frustrated, it’s not laziness — it just means their foundation is still growing.

The best way to help? Play 💛

Simple things like climbing, Play-Doh, and drawing with chalk can make a big difference.
You’re not expected to teach at home — just support in small, playful ways. 🌱

Rising kindergartener? 🌼
This summer matters more than you think.

Kindergarten readiness isn’t just letters and numbers. It’s listening in a group. Following directions. Opening lunch containers. Managing frustration. Transitioning without meltdowns.

Summer is a practice season — a time to gently build confidence, independence, emotional regulation, and social flexibility before the first day arrives.

At Child Success Center, our Kindergarten Readiness Camp is:
✨ Small group
✨ Therapist-led
✨ Whole-child focused
✨ Developmentally intentional

We strengthen executive function, fine motor skills for writing, core strength for sitting, playground confidence, group participation, and self-help independence — the skills teachers actually look for.

You don’t have to wait to see if they struggle.
Summer support now means smoother transitions later.

Friendship isn’t instinctive for every child — and that’s okay. 💛

If your daughter wants friends but struggles to read the room, join play, manage big feelings, or keep friendships going… she doesn’t need to “try harder.” She needs the right support!

Our Friendship Club for Girls (Ages 6–10) is a small, supportive group designed for girls with High-Functioning Autism (Level 1) and ADHD. Hosted in our sensory-motor gym, they can move, climb, swing, and play while practicing real-life social skills in the moment.

We focus on:
✨ Perspective taking
✨ Flexible thinking
✨ Conversation skills
✨ Problem solving with peers
✨ Repairing friendships

Led by Patty Ramsey, MFT, and grounded in a structured Social Thinking curriculum — because we don’t just teach skills, we build social understanding.
