What does this CEO know that others don't?
Here's what she wrote:
Friends/fellow CEOs:
As promised, I’m sending you an email about the Executive Program I mentioned over the phone. There are few programs in the Bay Area. The best one I found is with Dr. Rachel Frumi Barr.
I’ve been working with this amazing coach for a year now. I find Dr. Frumi a great asset as she has helped me tremendously with corporate and personal growth.
Dr. Frumi’s program has helped me achieve important milestones towards my ultimate goal of growing into an exceptional CEO and taking my company to $100 million valuation by 2020.
We all know that becoming a CEO doesn’t mean we suddenly have all the answers; we all have to grow as our companies grow. Similar to how all successful people including elite athletes use a coach, we also need to be coached.
Dr. Frumi is now offering a new program via her Business Growth Circles. We only have space for 6 people. Email me if you are interested to learn more about this unique opportunity. Use this link to get basic info about Dr. Frumi: http://scaling4growth.com/about-scaling-4-growth/leadership/
Lastly, I hope the following information helps you answer why it’s important to have a good coach and become part of a supporting network of CEOs in noncompeting industries.
According to the Harvard Business Review, 2 out of 5 new CEOs fail on the job. They also found the major reason for the failure has to do with ego and leadership style out of touch with changing environments; it has nothing to do with competence, knowledge and/or experience. Furthermore, the research indicates, among the newly appointed leaders, 82% derail because they fail to build partnerships with subordinates and peers.
Eric Schmidt, Chairman and CEO of Google, who said that his best advice to new CEOs was "have a coach." Schmidt goes on to say, "Once I realized I could trust him and that he could help me with perspective, I decided this was a great idea."
Jonathan Schwartz, one-time President and CEO of Sun Microsystems, had an executive coach himself. Steve Bennett, former CEO of Intuit says, “At the end of the day, people who are high achievers—who want to continue to learn and grow and be effective—need coaching.”
The much-asked question about coaching is its ROI. The majority of studies including a prominent one by Joy McGovern and her colleagues at the research firm, Manchester, indicated that the executives who received coaching valued the service between $100,000 to $1 million ROI.
I look forward to becoming your peer in Dr.Frumi’s Business Growth Circles...
Cheers,
