Today Lie Detector Lady shares:
A few polygraph clients make a dumb mistake that prevents their polygraph examiner from digging deeper to get the full & complete truth.
Even some polygraph examiners don't care; some don't even realize it. Some clients don't care even after an explanation, while some 'untie' our hands after it was brought to their attention.
Primary goal is to get the best results accuracy for our clients. But some clients 'tie our hands', insisting on something that greatly reduces our ability to get them the most information.
A few times each year, unaware of possible consequences, a client firmly instructs us to NOT let the examinEE know the results IN ANY WAY. They say they want to be able to later privately themselves tell the examinee the polygraph test results.
For some part-time polygraph examiners, that's fine-- they collect 3 charts and then later tell the client either Pass or Fail. They did a minimum basic polygraph exam, per client instructions.
We prefers to go the extra mile. We have advanced interview training & skills, which is NOT taught at a polygraph academy. If we see any of the signs of deception when a question is answered, we prefer to interview them deeper on that question, a bit farther than a simple pass/fail, IF that is arranged in advance with the client. Sometimes we modify the original question a time or two. Then, we can keep testing to get more data or possibly an admission.
Perhaps even worse: we have learned that on some occasions, after privately telling the client of a complete NDI (a Pass), later that night the client falsely told the examinEE that the score had been a Fail, and the client then badgers the examinEE for more details & a confession.
