These coveted trophies awaited the winners of the Filipino American Society of Architects and Engineers of Southern California (FASAE SoCal) 2026 Inaugural Golf Tournament held yesterday, May 15, at El Cariso Golf Course. ⛳🏆

Less than 48 hours to go! ⛳️

I’m super excited for the FASAE SoCal Inaugural Golf Tournament happening this Friday, May 15, at El Cariso Golf Course.

This is my maiden voyage organizing a golf tournament, and I’ve quickly learned that golf is truly a team sport — both on the course and behind the scenes.

I’m deeply grateful for the incredible support from our sponsors, registered golfers, volunteers, and board leadership who helped make this inaugural event possible.

Wilshire Runs Deep: Celebrating the Opening of the Metro D Line! 🎊🚊

What an exciting moment to be part of the historic grand opening of the Los Angeles Metro D Line! This moment holds deep personal and professional meaning for me — wearing many hats to represent my community, LA Metro’s TBAC and Sustainability Council, as a Commissioner with the City of Los Angeles Cultural Heritage Commission and a long-time resident of this neighborhood.

Before the ride on Friday, May 8, we attended the grand opening ceremony at the Petersen Automotive Museum rooftop. I’m grateful to have been part of this important event leading up to the official Metro D Line ribbon-cutting and inaugural ride.

What stood out most was the stellar lineup of speakers — many deeply rooted in Los Angeles history and leadership — including Mayor Karen Bass, Los Angeles County Board Supervisor Lindsey Horvath, Congresswoman Laura Friedman, Senator Adam Schiff and Senator Maria Elena Durazo and my Councilmember Katy Yaroslavsky.

A particularly meaningful moment was hearing acknowledgments not only of present and past leaders, but also of the many men and women whose work made this major cultural and community transit connector possible — the D Line.

Special recognition to LA Metro leader Stephanie Wiggins for highlighting the collective effort behind this transformative infrastructure project.

Shout out to the amazing team that organized this spectacular celebration.

It was wonderful seeing many familiar faces and meeting new members of our Los Angeles community.

Of course, I took the Metro to get there — although ample comp’d parking was provided at the museum!

I had to scoot out early for an afternoon virtual meeting, so I was not among the very first riders. But, I was interviewed by KFI Talk Radio 640 AM as I headed out!

Looking forward to riding the Metro D Line this weekend. Even better, rides are free all weekend across the entire Metro system to celebrate this grand occasion!

Proud to serve alongside a dedicated group that shows up, steps up, and keeps momentum going—whether in person or behind the scenes. Glen Salcedo, Emerita Jalandra, Lucille Floresta Sarah Aoanan, Susana de Guzman, Jacklyn Smith, Pedro Magno Jr, Joseph Antonio and Larry Tortuya.

This past Saturday, we had a productive Board meeting as we gear up for our first Golf Tournament on May 15 and map out how we’ll continue to grow engagement in the months ahead.
