The Pomona College Museum of Art is building a beautiful new museum complex. I just wrapped up a project that I started in the Spring, inventorying the entire collection and accessioning paintings, works on paper, and some incredible Native American collections. All this to help prepare the collection to move to its new home. It was a real pleasure to work with the team and the collection.

Today I spent the afternoon helping my friends at the William S. Hart Museum. We did a small collections move to make space for some new collections shelving they have coming in. Collections moves are never exactly fun, but it was great to see some of the collection that isn't usually on display. I especially loved a leather coat with beautiful quill-work embroidery!

Fifty years later, conservators make another great save.

Badly damaged in a 1966 flood, Giorgio Vasari’s “The Last Supper” was once considered impossible to restore. Now, after a painstaking seven-year conservation project, the painting is finally returning to Florence’s Santa Croce basilica.

For seven years I had the pleasure to work with the Cotsen Textile Collection. The Cotsen Box Projects are commissioned works of 3-dimensional textile art created by an impressive array of international artists. The box projects will be on exhibition at the Fowler Museum at UCLA, opening September 11, 2016. I can't wait to see it, I know it will be a great show. Waters are receding in Paris, so hopefully the Louvre and d'Orsay (and all the other gems there) are out of danger. I wish the same were true for Chateau Chambord.
