Being a Good I mean Great IT Manager

If you’re a CFO, I urge you to control IT. And spend money on it. I usually spend 3x what a normal CFO does.

- make sure the printers work - this is huge!!
- throw out servers that have down time
- buy new laptops
- have spare laptops at all times in all offices
- replace on-premise systems with cloud
- hire cool IT people that can talk
- make friends with a good IT provider
- outsource if appropriate
- throw away the desk phones
- pay 50% of mobile bills
- pay 50% of home internet costs
- buy as many big screens as they want
- buy wireless keyboards and mice
- I even personally pick up old IT cords

Don’t be a tight ass accountant.
Invest in IT and your team will love you.
