Starting a new wedding DIY project and I’m very excited about this one 🎨✨

I found these canvases at an auction house and decided to reuse them for our wedding and wedding weekend signage!

The first step was taping the frame, then adding a coat of gesso, which is an important primer because it helps seal the canvas, stiffen the surface, and create the texture needed for painting. Next up is another coat, and then I’ll start on the design.

This weekend, Kelan and I had our venue walk-through at our wedding venue, the beautiful Vega Vineyard and Farm in Santa Ynez Valley, and it was such a special experience 💗 We put together a mock tablescape with our florals and sand candles, and getting to see everything start to take shape in the space made it all feel that much more real. I also created our floral arrangements for the walk-through, and of course we included Vela’s Luxury Sand Candles as part of the design. It was the most beautiful weekend, and I already cannot wait to see our wedding day come together in June ✨

There is just something about a design like this that feels instantly exciting. The pink serpentine seating brings in so much softness and movement, while the lighting and centerpieces make the whole reception feel magical. It is bold in such a beautiful way, and yes, my reaction says it all.
