The City of Lindale is honored to be designated as a Purple Heart City, recognizing the courage and sacrifice of the men and women who have been wounded or killed in service to our nation. 🇺🇸💜
On May 19, 2026, Mayor Gavin Rasco officially proclaimed the City of Lindale as a Purple Heart City, proudly joining communities across the nation in honoring combat-wounded veterans and their families.
The Purple Heart is one of the oldest military honors in the United States, originally established by General George Washington in 1782 as the “Badge of Military Merit.” Today, the Purple Heart is awarded to members of the U.S. Armed Forces who are wounded or make the ultimate sacrifice while serving in combat.
This designation reflects Lindale’s deep appreciation and unwavering support for the brave men and women who have sacrificed in defense of our freedoms. We are proud to honor these heroes and ensure their service and sacrifice are never forgotten.
