Happy Birthday Averie! I love that you chose Princess Tiana because it just happens to be her opening weekend at Walt Disney World for ! I had so much fun with this cake. Vanilla Velvet with fresh strawberry filling and sliced strawberries! Decorated with lotus flowers, little yellow lilies like the bottom of Tianas dress, butterflies, and dragonflies! Princess Tiana has one of my favorite quotes of the Disney Princesses - “Fairy tales can come true. But you gotta make them happen, it all depends on you.”

It’s been a minute since I’ve been able to play this much with a birthday cake, and I sure did have fun! Cotton candy layer cake with cotton candy buttercream. Each layer of the cake is colored to correspond with its cotton candy colored buttercream. The buttercream is hand painted to create the illusion of the ocean and a pink and purple sunset. Turquoise, purples and pinks make this a perfect match for our little birthday girl’s birthday outfit. White chocolate shells swirled with bits of purple. Fondant sand dollars and sea horses. Lastly, shell and rock candy sprinkles for the final touch!

My baby girl turns 10 today and she wanted Penguin Macarons instead of cake. They are raspberry with raspberry white chocolate ganache filling. Look at those feet on the macaron shell! (Oh and I figured out it wasn’t the NY humidity that I had trouble with the last time, it was the raspberry powder. I apparently bought one that wasn’t freeze dried.) Most importantly though, I can’t express how proud we are to have the honor of being her parents. She’s a special one. Smart, sweet, empathetic, creative, fun, funny, and just overall great to be around. Laurel Brigida - we love you more than we can say in words. Thanks for being so amazing! I’m trying to get through this without crying - not doing so well. Love you beautiful girl! Happy Birthday!

Cutting down our tree in Vermont and then lunch in the the little town nearby will never not feel like living in a Hallmark Christmas movie. Still my most favorite time of year!! (Although Autumn apple picking and pumpkin festivals are a close second.) 🌲❄️🎄

It’s National Brow Day according to all the Ulta and Sephora ads popping up on my phone…. So capital region area NY - if you need brows I know where you should go! is an artist in every sense of the word! It had been a long while since I was able to have my brows done and they were mostly faded, but a little ashiness was present. Between the pandemic and moving across country, I needed to find an artist here in NY. I scouted Cam out here on insta and now I can celebrate National Brow Day too!! So 90’s ladies - make that appointment! I am in love with these wake up and go brows! Can you zoom in on insta? If you can - do! 💜

Made a Birthday cake for myself and my Uncle Leo (whose birthday is tomorrow) with all my favorite elements! Cocoa Noir with Raspberry Macaron. (These little suckers were really tricky in all this rain we have been having.) Gold leaf, purple geode sprinkles, and purple edible glitter with an isomalt sugar sculpture! 💜

My baby turned 9 today! She wanted chubby penguin cookie cups, so that is what she got! We spent the day playing in the snow, so she got to do some penguin like activities! Happy Birthday Laurel! We love you so much! 💜🐧❄️
