Next up this Fall from .losangeles is “Cantilever and Crumb, Sugar and Structure: A John Lautner Bake-Off” that challenges participants to craft an edible work inspired by Lautner’s dramatic forms, structural daring, organic materials, and singular approach to Southern California design.

Entries do not need to be literal replicas; participants are encouraged to interpret a specific house, architectural detail, material, structural principle, or simply the spirit of his work.

In its Fall issue, Modern Luxury Hawai‘i spotlights this Philpotts Interiors residence, where treasured heirlooms and modern Hawaiian living meet in harmony.

“Guided by legacy and place, the interiors were shaped as a quiet framework for the homeowners’ collected works,” says Senior Designer Kristie Kiggins who sought to create an interior that celebrates the art of gathering.
