23 years ago today my twin sister worked at Cantor-Fitzgerald at the WTC. She was always at her desk by 8am. Frantic phone calls with my mother, her husband, and other family. Cell phones out. Shortly after 11am my sister rang the doorbell to my mother's home in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. She uncharacteristically decided to go in a bit late that morning. Her express bus from Staten Island stopped just short of the Battery Tunnel after the first plane hit. The subways shut down. Pay phones had lines for blocks. She walked over 6 miles to my mother's house. I can still hear my mother's voice through tears that my sister was spared that terrible morning. Thinking of all who lost loved ones. I engraved this in their honor. Never forget. 😔
