"And suddenly the streets were empty. The people weren't walking, laughing, singing, or dancing. There was no more capturing of moments at famous monuments, or taking in of shows on the boulevard.
Life as we know it has changed, and the only thing certain is the powerful uncertainty that has sunken in and begun to rule our daily lives. It has forced us to experience the range of emotions — from lows to highs and back to lows again — and made us realize that we have taken so much for granted. Yet, in the midst of this chaos, I hope we find a way to reconnect with one another. To learn to be selfless, kind, and compassionate. To find our lost humanity. To be grateful for the simple, truly meaningful things that no amount of money can buy. Because when those lights turn back on and these streets get another chance to shine, they will shine differently. And so will we."
