We do have control of what happens to us - by our reactions, positive thinking, actions, and effort. You want to be in control of your life, not have life control you with every change, may it be positive or negative. If something happens that upsets you, find ways you can improve your reaction to it. A lot of times unpleasant events happen to us in order to make us be more aware and force us to change our outlook on it.
We sometimes think that we tried so hard but maybe its the wrong goal we are chasing or we are not meant to reach that destination quite yet. We can only control what is on the inside, and that is a lifelong journey, discovery, and self awareness that takes time and dedication.
