The Sphynx Sand-Sifting Goby is a peaceful Indo-Pacific sand-dwelling goby. Growing to around 4–5 inches, it does best in a 30-gallon aquarium or larger with a mature sand bed, plenty of rock, and established microfauna for natural foraging. It constantly sifts and picks through the substrate for small crustaceans and other edible organisms, so a varied diet of mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, finely chopped seafood, and sinking marine pellets should be provided. It is generally reef-safe and peaceful toward other species, although it may defend a small territory from similar gobies and can occasionally shift sand onto nearby corals. A secure lid is recommended because gobies can be accomplished jumpers.

Growing to around 3–4 inches, it is best kept in a 20-gallon aquarium or larger with plenty of rock, caves, and open swimming space, along with a secure lid because it is an excellent jumper. Firefish are planktivores and should be fed a varied diet of mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, copepods, and quality marine pellets or flakes several times a day. They are generally reef-safe and peaceful, making them excellent community fish, but they can be territorial toward other dartfish and should be provided with suitable hiding places and a calm environment.

The Japanese Swallowtail Angelfish is a beautiful, peaceful planktivorous angelfish from the western Pacific, including Japan and surrounding waters. It is one of the more reef-compatible angelfish and is generally considered reef-safe with corals and most sessile invertebrates. Provide a spacious aquarium of at least 100 gallons with plenty of open swimming space, rocks, and hiding areas, along with excellent water quality and moderate water movement.
