Pricing is one of the hardest parts of running a mobile bar business, especially when you’re trying to stay competitive and make it make sense.

If you’re booking events but noticing any of these patterns in your business, it might be time to reassess your pricing.

And honestly, the beginning of the year is the best time to clean this up while you’ve got a fresh slate.

Booked out, but still drowning? Let’s talk about it.

You’ve got a team. You’ve got events. Clients love you. But behind the scenes, it’s you vs. your inbox in a bare-knuckle fight for survival.

Let me guess:
❌ You reply “sounds good” to 3 different leads and then forget which one actually booked
❌ You swear you’ll fix the CRM after this weekend
❌ You’ve written the same proposal 14 times instead of building a template
❌ If you disappeared for 72 hours, no one would know what the hell is going on

Here’s how you know it’s time:
👩‍💻 You have a team, but your backend runs on a hope and a dream
👩‍💻 You’re booked, but you’re still the bottleneck
👩‍💻 You’re 2 missed follow-ups away from a refund request and a breakdown

You don’t need another course on how to clean up your operations.

You need someone real. Someone who’s already:

✅ Flagged the proposal error
✅ Checked the bartender cert
✅ Scheduled the follow-up
✅ Fixed the pricing typo
..before you even realized it needed fixing.

If that’s what you’ve been looking for, slide in.

Let’s talk before the admin gods demand another sacrifice. 🥂

So you're ready to take the plunge and set up your HoneyBook or Dubsado?

Great!

Before we get started, though, you've gotta have these 3 must-haves squared away.

1️⃣ Your Service Suite: Everything your team does for a client needs to be laid out in detail before you bring in the expert.
2️⃣ Your Pricing Structure: Completely defined packages and any add-ons need to be priced and ready to go.
3️⃣ A lawyer-drafted contract so both parties understand their roles and responsibilities.

Got all that? Then you're good to go!

You've poured your heart and soul into crafting the perfect event, only to have the guest list go crazy over the course of the night.

Panic sets in, supplies dwindle, and your professionalism is put to the ultimate test, but fear not, mobile bartenders!

Here's how to navigate the post-party conversation with grace and get what you deserve:

1️⃣ Acknowledge the Situation: Start by addressing the elephant in the room. Express your understanding of the unexpected increase in guests while calmly highlighting the logistical challenges it presented.

2️⃣ Contract is King: Remind the host of the agreed-upon guest count and the limitations it set on your service. Gently explain that any additional guests beyond that number fall outside the scope of the original contract. Include a clause that explicitly states that additional guests beyond this number will incur extra charges and specify the rate for additional guests (e.g., per person charge).

3️⃣ Open Communication is Key: Discuss the extra costs incurred due to the larger crowd, including additional supplies, labor, and potential overtime. Be transparent and fair in your calculations. Again, you can always refer back to your contract!

4️⃣ Contingency Plans are Lifesavers: Emphasize the importance of having a contingency plan for unexpected situations, like having your favorite Instacart shopper on speed dial and having a buffer of supplies readily available.

5️⃣ Professionalism Reigns Supreme: Throughout the conversation, maintain a professional and courteous demeanor. Avoid accusatory language and focus on finding a solution that benefits both parties.

Remember: You are a skilled professional who deserves fair compensation for your services. Don't be afraid to stand your ground and advocate for yourself. By having a clear plan and communicating effectively, you can turn this post-party nightmare into a valuable learning experience and pave the way for smoother gigs in the future.

Are your prospective clients focused solely on finding the lowest price? Let's delve into why this happens.

Budget constraints often lead clients to seek cost-effective options. It's not a reflection of your brand, but their financial priorities. And in a market where services can be seen as commodities, price becomes a major decision factor.

Sometimes, clients may not fully understand the value a premium mobile bartending service brings. They miss seeing the experienced bartenders, premium ingredients, and tailored cocktails not just as features, but as experiences they'll cherish.

Lastly, understanding your target audience is crucial. Different market segments prioritize different factors. The challenge isn't winning every client, but winning the right ones.

Stay tuned for our next post, where we'll discuss how to tackle these challenges. Together, we'll turn obstacles into opportunities.

Remember, the goal isn't to win every client, but to win the right clients. Clients who appreciate the value you bring, who see beyond the price tag, and who will help your brand grow in the long run.

Stay tuned as we delve deeper into this topic in our upcoming content pillar. Together, let's turn these challenges into opportunities.

Ever wonder why some clients aren't coming back for round two?

Turns out, it's not always about the cocktails!

As we gear up for the holiday season, let's remember that repeat clients are like our favorite cocktail - we can't get enough of them!

They trust you, promote you 50% more than one-time buyers, and often spend 67% more than your average new customer!

And guess what?

It costs you 5X less to keep them coming back for more.

So here are some areas to assess to ensure your faves are getting the best experience this holiday season (and many more to come)!
