I was honored to be asked to create banners inspired by Ernie Barnes’ glorious painting “Sugar Shack” for his show at . Such a pleasure to get to work in the vernacular, backwards Roman A and all! Though it’s pretty much the opposite of what I do on the reg, signs like the ones in the painting are what inspired me to get into this line of work in the first place. ⠀

So, a few years ago asked me to make a poster for their Pacific Standard Time programming. Then, when Machine Project closed after 15 glorious years, their graphic archive was acquired by LACMA. Then, LACMA put the poster I painted in their new typography show!??! Up now in the Ahmamson building for the foreseeable future. @ LACMA Los Angeles County Museum of Art

I have a sign painting-inspired piece in this delightful underwater art show. Open tomorrow and Sunday only!
