The Life Drawing Workshop

The Life Drawing Workshop Held every Thursday from 7pm-10pm during the Spring and Fall semesters at Otis College of Art and Design. See About for details. No art materials are provided.

This is a Life Drawing & Painting workshop open to all Otis alumni, amateur and professional artists. Its a FREE workshop but the focus is to all artists serious about their craft in drawing & painting. There are TWO classes with different focuses. One is the figure/nude/quick poses, the other longer pose with the model in costume. THE classrooms are in ROOMS 305 & 306 in the main, 7 story, AMME

NSON BUILDING
Space is limited, and we start promptly at 7pm. Arrival and setup can begin as early at 6:50pm. Please bring your own materials for cleanup as well. Food is available on campus in the cafeteria till 9pm. Any additional questions, feel free to message the page. Faculty:

Parking:
Free parking in the main Otis lot in the 5 story parking garage off La Tijera Street parking and it is easily available to the south of the campus on La Tijera Blvd and to the East on Loyola Blvd.

HEY FOLKS!! Well it took a bit of negotiating and finding money from the budget but THE OTIS LIFE DRAWING WORKSHOP is back on for FALL 2024! THURSDAY 7-10PM - ROOM 708
There have been a few changes though...First the workshop has been moved up to the 7th floor. Its in a smaller room so it may be a tighter fit. Everything is being moved around so it may be a bit clunky. Also there will only be short pose figure at this point. They may change classrooms later in the semester and perhaps Costume drawing may be introduced later.
I have retired and Ashton Johnson has taken over the heavy lifting. Having said The Life Drawing Workshop Page is still on Facebook and I'll try to make the changes. If you want more info on directions/parking, etc... you can find it there.
I havent got the model list yet but Ashton can fill you in at this point. OK there you go and thats all I got.

HEY FOLKS!! WE CRANK UP THE OTIS COLLEGE LIFE DRAWING WORKSHOP THIS THURDAY, JANUARY 18TH FROM 7~ 10PM. I also posted the model schedule for this semester. There are usually a handful of changes made but this gives you a good idea of whats going down. If you need more information about maps, parking and what-not go to THE LIFE DRAWING WORKSHOP page/group on FaceBook. Just a hint we are in the main building on the 3rd floor. This Thursday evening, 7~10pm, august 31 we crank up The Life Drawing Workshop again. All the important information and directions, etc… is contained in The Life Drawing Workshop pace here on Facebook. It’s open to the public and is the main big building. Hope to see you there. HEY EVERYONE - THE OTIS COLLEGE LIFE DRAWING WORKSHOP WILL BE CRANKING UP AGAIN NEXT WEEK ON JANUARY 19TH. We have a great line up this semester and instead of informing you week to week (which I will still do, by the way) I thought it might be good for this spring semester to post the whole darn schedule. OK....about 95% percent of it. Usually, ewe have one room for figure and the other room (309) for costume but on the evening of February 9, we have two great gestural models so that night its gesture and form for both rooms. If you have any questions you know where to find me but i teach all day Thursday so if you send me a message, I might miss it. Pre-Wednesday would be better.
