The first time I got paid $997 I thought…💰

I still remember the very first time I actually got paid money for Coaching 10 years ago….​
​

There I was talking to this potential client and it was time to share how much it would cost to work with me...​
​

I felt this huge lump in my throat, I felt my stomach churning with butterflies, my heart was pounding in my ears, and the voice in my head was screaming...​
​

“NOOOOO, YOU CAN’T CHARGE THAT MUCH!!! WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE? SHE WILL NEVER SAY YES TO THAT.​
​

I stuttered, “$997.00” And then I held my breath and waited….​
​

She said, “Ok, how should I pay you?”​
​

I let out a huge sigh of relief and breathed out and said “Ummm, check.” acting as if I accepted checks all the time.​
​

Although that first paying client was a breakthrough for me, I still had some other challenges I ran into after that, which were unconscious to me at the time. ​ It definitely took me some time, but I finally figured it out!​ Here are a few mistakes I made along the way...

❌ Not sharing what you do with people or even hiding what you do​
❌ Getting distracted by busy work that doesn’t lead to earning (like making a business card or building a website) ​
❌ Even pushing clients away that say they want to work with you​
