We’re not just cutting a ribbon—we’re creating opportunity. 💙💪🏽
Today’s opening of the Fernhill Health Center at Portland Community College’s Opportunity Center in Cully was a celebration of what’s possible when lived experience drives the vision.
Chair Tamia Deary reminded us:
“Healthcare equity isn’t abstract—it’s built from the ground up... When lived experience meets opportunity and collective action, we don’t just open doors—we build new ones.”
I applaud the Community Health Center Board—all volunteers—who brought passion, perspective, and perseverance to this moment. Like Chair Deary said,
“This is what happens when community voices help shape the system—we get care that fits the people, not the other way around.”
This is what people-powered progress looks like.
