Throwback to the "Brushstrokes" rug that I created for my Oxford Punch Needle Instructor Certification back in 2019! This piece pushed me out of my comfort zone as I tried to recreate the look of a small abstract acrylic painting that I had created. (Scroll through to the end to see the original picture the rug is based on!) The hardest part of this piece was that I had to recreate this by drawing it freehand on the monkscloth BACKWARDS, and punch it backwards as well -- so much about mastering (any) craft is making it look effortless, when there is so much thought, planning, and skill that goes into each piece.

Here are some in-progress shots of sewing together my cropped punch needle vest (a variation on one of the projects in my book, Punch Needle Fashion). I'm obsessed with the pattern on this piece that I created with 's gorgeous Osprey yarn line! I used the Fine Oxford Punch Needles to punch this design, which allowed me to get nice crisp lines and sharp details. Stay tuned to see the full finished look! ✨️

I've been returning to one of my first forms of art recently -- collage. Creating balance and harmony between shapes and color. Each of these greeting cards are a meditation, a little work of art.

Fun fact: In my early 20's I had an Etsy store called Oyster where I sold handmade collage greeting cards that included using a sewing machine to stitch on top of paper. This type of work is where I began to first experiment with geometric shapes, lines and color, and undoubtedly had a big influence on my current work with fiber and textiles!

One of my big goals for 2026 is to make more work that isn't punch needle. I've been so focused on this one medium for years, and it's slow speed has left little time for exploration elsewhere.

These stitched fabric coasters have been a fun, quick way to play with color and a different medium -- plus it's been a great way to use up all the fabric scraps I've had lying around my studio for years!

A special new piece in the works ✨️ Inspired by Quince & Co.'s yarn that I've been experimenting with through .world I'm punching a cropped version of the first vest project in my book, Punch Needle Fashion. The beautiful colors and soft hand of 's Osprey yarn line are going to create a much lighter, softer textile than the pieces I typically create using rug wool, and I can't wait to see how it turns out ♥️

A closer look at the Punch Needle Vest with Darts, one of the final projects from my book Punch Needle Fashion.

For this vest I worked with .world rug yarn in warm brown, gold and white colors, and used different .oxford Oxford Punch Needle sizes to create texture and mimic the look of fur.

Cozy and warm, you can make the design your own through different yarns, colors and design.

Punch needle isn't traditionally associated with fashion -- it's a rugmaking technique, rooted in utility. But that's exactly what draws me to it! Taking something with such deep craft history and reimagining it as wearable art is a way for me to honor tradition while simultaneously pushing the craft forward.

The creation process is slow. Each piece is built gradually, requiring patience and precision at every stage. For me, that's where the magic happens, slow moments when technique and vision converge into something that feels both timeless and entirely new.
