Artist always make sure you knock out your publishing splits before or during the creation of a song so you get the right royalties:

1/ Music publishing splits generally deduct a certain percentage of money from a song's earnings for the songwriter.

2/ Generally, a songwriter gets 50% of the writers share, and the other 50% is split by the lyricist and composer.

3/ However, the percentage can vary if there is more than one writer involved in a song.

4/ In the case of a joint songwriting effort, some writers may be given a higher percentage based on their contribution to the song.

5/ Publishing splits are also affected by agreements between performers and labels, as well as any other parties involved in a song's production.

6/ When it comes to streaming services, publishing splits are typically determined by how much of the streaming service’s royalty pool is allocated to publishers and writers each month, which can vary greatly.

I was some some small tweaks to some clients websites this morning and was thinking about why it’s so important to keep creating:

1/ Self-expression – It’s one of the best ways to express your thoughts and feelings.

2/ Career Development – Having creative projects allows you to showcase your talents and skills.

3/ Stress relief – Working on something creative can be a great way to relax and de-stress.

4/ Problem-solving – Creative work helps to stimulate new ideas and solutions.

5/ Connection – Creating allows you to connect with others through shared experiences.

6/ Life balance – Working on creative activities helps you stay in touch with yourself and your passions.

7/ Good for mental health – Doing something creative can help boost mood and reduce anxiety.
