✨⭐️STORY TIME! ⭐️⁣✨
Can you believe it wasn't until we were asked by Voyagela to tell our story that we realized we hadn't even told you yet?! We've linked the longer story in our bio, but here's the short (Facebook friendly) version:⁣

Our founder, Jackie, started her occupational therapy career in early intervention. Working with children in their homes was a lot of fun, but it also was challenging to help families find their way through the healthcare system. An OT can do a lot, but in many cases, a team would be needed to get the best results. Many hours were spent figuring out how to connect patients with a physical therapist, a dysphagia therapist... a list was starting to grow.⁣
⁣
A few years later, she started working at a hospital caring for adults. Great. She had a list of pediatric providers, but where should she recommend her patients go for outpatient therapy? ⁣
⁣
The frustration was building. ⁣
⁣
As most things in life, everything came full circle. She started working at a children's hospital and you guessed it, her list wasn't long enough yet. So the list grew and ten years later it was time to share. It was then that Jackie started RehabGAB. She opted to share her resources via a searchable website, with the goal to connect people who needed physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and/or inpatient rehabilitation with providers in Southern California. ⁣

📌 Sometimes we call them case managers, but depending on where you find them, we also call them advocates, social workers, care coordinators and coordination managers. We call the unpaid ones caregivers and parents (we see you too!). ⁣

🗓 The work that you do keeps someone safe and healthy. It's no small task to keep the medications in order, the bills covered, the team happy and make sure all the dots are connected. Even after you've connected the dots, you likely have to make sure everyone has followed through with the plan. Thank you for untangling the healthcare system and making it more accessible for people to get the resources they need. ⁣
