The Oversize Tote, cut from veg-tanned vachetta leather with a plant-dyed black finish. The tannins from plant roots and tree barks were used traditionally to cure leather, before mass tanning with heavy metals became standard. The clean finish of veg-tan also extends the leather life- it will never fall apart of crumble the way chrome-tanned leather does (chrome destroys the inner structure). In the black the color doesn’t change, but it will take on a shine with use, as natural oils of the skin buff it up.

The Crosscheck Suit was a very limited
edition run for Summer 2026. The fabric
is an indigo hand block print on an 120 g
undyed cotton base. I sourced the fabric
from India because they have a rich
cultural heritage in this artisan tradition. Double-breasted unlined easy jacket and double pleated suit short. It can be found in Tokyo at L’Echoppe and
our Los Angeles studio.

We’re keeping artisan fashion alive. Vegetable-tanned shoes, chrome-free, plant-dyed. Made from scratch by a single artisan right here in LA. Artisans own the entire process from start to finish, whereas a factory-made shoe passes through several hands, which each worker specializing in only one step of the production line. The artisan result is a living piece with an incomparable essence. You have to experience in person to understand. Come by the studio for a fitting.

The Bell Hat is handwoven from river rushes and has a bell-shaped crown and sloping brim. Excellent shade coverage. We work with female cooperatives in Peru who forage, micro-strip and hand weave these hats using traditional methods. This is a fully artisanal product. comes with a leather chinstrap for windy days. The Junco Capsule, woven from Junco river reeds that give a more textured finish than our ultrafine Toquilla Palm. I work with the whole reed for a more bulbous finish and the split reed for an ultralight weight. The Bell Hat, Halo Hat, Junta Hat on the website now, the new Flipped Bell coming out this month. The Crosscheck Suit/ Womens. Ultralight 90 gram Undyed cotton base with a hand-blocked Indigo check print.
