Emergency relief can be as quick as within 24 hours, but restoration takes much longer. That is why nunovations has partnered with Americas For Conservation + The Arts, Fondo Unido - United Way México, El Departamento De La Comida Puerto Rico, and many other organizations to help in the recovery efforts for those affected by Maria's landfall and the earthquake in Mexico.

Our work began within 24 hours after the disasters occurred and will continue for at least 24 weeks to accompany and support the recovery process. Your support goes directly to the nonprofits, and this campaign includes the accounts of volunteers who are dedicating themselves to documenting on-the-ground efforts.

"I'm interested in human beings, their behavior, and what people will do to get what they want. I'm originally from Central California, and know the issues with water, but I didn't know them deeply. What I discovered is a lot's going on that we don't know about. So I hope the film is a call to arms for everyday citizens to see what is happening with our water and how it's being privatized without us knowing it."

The battle for water is not just happening in a far-off desert across the globe. It's right here at home.

In honor of , we are highlighting Mexican-American environmentalist from Los Angeles, Aurora Castillo. She was co-founder of Mothers of East Los Angeles and winner of the prestigious Goldman Environmental Prize, known as the Nobel prize of environmentalists. The group of Latina mothers fought against a treatment plant for hazardous waste, an incinerator within an LA neighborhood, and a state prison in their community, amongst many other environmental injustices.
Thank you to these visionaries and activists and the many women who have done so much work to protect our environment and our communities. 💚✊🏼

In 1970, PresidentNixon signed the national Environmental Policy Act and created the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. In return for the strong bipartisan support, the EPA hired many photographers to capture America and its environmental problems of the 70's. The project was called Documerica.
