One of the most common questions we get is:

“Does the surrogate share DNA with the baby?”

In gestational surrogacy, the answer is no.
The embryo is created using the intended parents’ or donors’ egg and s***m, then transferred to the surrogate through IVF. The surrogate carries and nurtures the pregnancy, but is not biologically related to the baby.
