This illustrates how seriously the NEC takes grounding and bonding at a swimming pool . Notice that in most cases a #8 copper conductor is required to be pulled from the wet niche to the listed swimming pool junction box as a bond if the feed is in PVC . It also shows the only places the insulated ground wire from the panelboard to the light or to the listed swimming pool junction box for the wet niche light may be broken - only allowed at these places because it needs to be terminated to their grounding bars .
