My heart is broken by the news of fellow runner and mom, Eliza Fletcher. A women, just out for her run, taken from this world all too soon.

As a woman, mom and runner, I am saddened and angry. Women shouldn't have to worry about our early morning miles...or any run, anytime of day. We shouldn't have to think twice about our attire, whether we have a weapon or have to beg someone to join us. We should be able to go for a run, just like a man... without worrying and always being on guard.

I don't know what the answer is... except humans need to do better, be better.
